Solar Panel Express Delivery
Can solar panels be shipped by sea?
Solar panels are normal goods and do not belong to dangerous goods. There are no special requirements for transportation by sea, so there is no problem with shipping them by sea. However, it is important to protect the solar panels during transportation.
Which certifications are crucial and advantageous for export?
CE Marking: Conformité Européenne (CE) is affixed to products to indicate compliance with EU regulations. It is a certificate of authentication; CE is the mandatory conformity marking for many products consumed in the European Economic Area (EEA): all 28 countries of the EU + Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway, Switzerland + Turkey. This means that the production of the product meets the EU's safety, health, and environmental requirements; to sell your solar products in Europe, this mark is definitely needed.
FCC Certification: A voluntary mark used on electronic products manufactured or sold in the United States, indicating that the device's electromagnetic radiation is below the limits set by the Federal Communications Commission and that the manufacturer has complied with the requirements of the Federal Communications Commission.
IEC Certification: The standard refers to the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC), which is a world-wide standardization organization composed of national electrotechnical committees. Its purpose is to promote standardization in the field of electrical and electronic engineering worldwide. There are many series, mainly choose the ones related to the photovoltaic industry.
UKCA Certification: (UK Conformity Assessed) is a new British product marking for goods placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland). It covers most of the products that previously required the CE marking, known as "new approach" goods. Mainly due to Brexit, the UKCA marking will become effective from January 1, 2021.
TÜV Certification: The TÜV mark is a safety certification mark customized by Germany's TÜV for component products, widely accepted in Germany and Europe.
Summary: There are many certifications, and the above only mentions several of the more common ones. If needed, you can learn about the certifications in detail in the following text; it is not necessary to do all of them.

What is the tax refund rate? What should be declared for export?
Typically, solar panels can be declared directly to customs as solar panels with the customs codes 8541430000 and 8504401400. Currently, the first code is more commonly used, but some systems may not have been updated yet, so you can use the second one. You can easily find these codes online. The tax refund rate varies by country and may differ slightly. If solar panels are exported directly from China to the United States, there could be severe anti-dumping taxes that might exceed the value of the goods themselves. The tax refund is around 13%.
